Inspection >> Blade Inspection

Step

Execute Inspection >> Blade Inspection command as follows.
1. Before you start, a scan shell and a CAD design shell should be imported already.
2. Select Inspection >> Blade Inspection from the menu. The following dialog box appears:

Reference Type box contains only Polygon for the time being. That means, the CAD data can be polygonal shell only.
Click ... button in the CAD Data box, and then select the CAD data in the working window or the project tree window. Click ... button in the Scan Data box, and then select the scan data in the working window or the project tree window.
To change the dimension size, double click inside the Dimension Scale box, then input a value and press Enter key. To change deviation vector size, double click inside the Deviation Scale box, then input a value and press Enter key. To change the number of the displayed deviation vectors, click inside the Deviation Step box, then input a value and press Enter key. A bigger deviation step value means less deviation vectors will be displayed, vice versa.
To change the Background Color, click ... button on the right, one Select Color dialog box appears. Then you can select one color.
Max Registration Iteration
is the maximum number of the times the application tries to register the scan data to the CAD data. Registration Error Bound is the maximum allowable error between the CAD data and the scan data after the registration.
If Show Center Line is set to True, the coordinate lines will be shown in the viewing window. If False, they won't be shown.
Max Deviation
and Min Deviation set the maximum and minimum deviations that will be reported.

The icons in the Section group are used to manipulate the sections.
If Add New Section is clicked, you need to pick a reference plane to create a new section. Once a section is created, its name appears in the section list control.
If Update All Sections is clicked, all the existing sections will be calculated.
If Export Sections To Excel is clicked, the section information shown in the section viewing window and tabular window will be exported to Excel worksheet. If multiple sections exist, multiple worksheets will be created.
If Clear All Sections is clicked, all the sections will be removed.
If Show Current Section is clicked, the current section will be shown in the section viewing window and the information related to it will be shown in the tabular window. It is a toggle type icon. So if it is clicked again, the normal viewing window will be shown. One example of section viewing window and tabular window is:

Max Chord Length means the longest distance between any end of the blade to another.
Chord Length means the maximum distance between the leading and trailing edge.
Axial Chord Length means the length of the blade projected onto the X axis.
Max Thickness means diameter of the biggest circle that can be drawn in between the pressure and suction sides of the blade.
Leading Edge Radius means the radius of the leading edge.
Trailing Edge Radius means the radius of the trailing edge.
Twist Angle means the angle of the pre-registration scan shell coordinate and the post-registration one.
Translate X means the translation of the scan shell coordinate along X axis direction caused by the registration.
Translate Y means the translation of the scan shell coordinate along Y axis direction caused by the registration.
Camber Line is drawn in green color in the section viewing window. It is the line that represents the mid-thickness of the blade between its pressure and suction sides at every point.
Design column shows the information of the CAD data.
Measured column shows the information of the scan data.
Max. Deviation and Min Deviation columns display the maximum and minimum deviation that can be reported.
NG/GOOD column shows the result. NG means not good and GOOD means good.
The checkboxes in the Show Dimension column are used to show/hide corresponding information.

If Register Scan Profile to CAD Profile is clicked, the scan profile will be registered to the CAD profile. As well the twist and translation will be calculated.
If Save Current Section As Dwg is clicked, a Save As dialog box will pop up and you can save the current section into a .dwg or .dxf format file.
If Delete Current Section is clicked, the current section will be removed.

If Dimension is checked, the dimensions will be shown. If Deviation is checked, the deviation vector and color bar will be shown.

2D Utilities section contains several tools to manipulate the content in the section viewing window.
If Zoom Window is clicked, you can drag-select a rectangular region in the section viewing window in order to fill the content inside it to the whole section viewing screen. If Zoom Fit is clicked, all the content will be shown inside the section viewing window. If Pan is clicked, you can translate the content anywhere. If Modify Dimensions is clicked, you should left-pick a dimension, then drag it to a place while holding down right mouse button. When it is at a proper position, left click to anchor it there.

3. Create sections, update them, register scan profile to CAD profile and do some other manipulations.
