File >> Import
File >> Import command inserts models in various file formats into the current model as new shells.
File >> Import command also inserts models in MDL file format.
Step
- Execute File >> Import command as follows:
- 1. Select File >> Import from the menu or click the icon from the Standard toolbar.
- 2. The file selection dialog box appears. Choose model files to insert and press Open button. If necessary, select the specific file format in the Files of type combo box.
- When import a polygonal file, it is possible to import only point data if you check Import Points Only option in the Import dialog box.
- When user imports a point cloud file, User can do point sampling uniformly by adjust Sampling Ratio.
- When user imports a polygonal file with texture, following dialogue will show to ask how to project texture into polygon.
rapidform will project texture into polygon by user selected coordination.

Note
To import multiple model files at once, hold down Ctrl or Shift key while selecting files.
A user can not import model files unless workspace window exists. Therefore, if a user wants to read model files in various formats but MDL, right after launch rapidform, he/she must create new workspace window by executing File >> New command.
The directory where the last imported file exists is remembered, and files in that directory are shown next time when File >> Import command is executed.
