• Feature >> Interactive Extract >> Cutting Surface/Solid command creates an extruded shaped surface or a solid that is made from the selected surface set with some margins when the polyline across the selected surface set is drawn. It creates a surface for a line and an open solid for more than two lines. At this time, the normal direction of the created surface and the solid is left side (right side) for the polyline’s forward direction. By using this function, a solid model can be created by making part solid and boolean with other solid from the open surface set.

Step

Execute Feature >> Interactive Extract  >> Cutting Surface/Solid command as follows:

1. Select Feature >> Interactive Extract >> Cutting Surface/Solid from the menu or click the corresponding icon on the Feature toolbar.

2. Select a surface or a surface set, and click Done on the RMB.

3. Adjust view for drawing a polyline and click Start on the RMB.

4. Draw the polyline, and click End on the RMB. If needed, the end point of polyline can move by selecting Move Point. It creates a surface for a line and an open solid for more than two lines. At this time, the normal direction of the created surface and the solid is left side (right side) for the polyline’s forward direction.
