Feature >> Automatic Extract >> Hole Feature
Feature >> Automatic Extract >> Hole Feature command automatically searches for and extracts hole and hole edges on a surface set and register into Ref.Geometry or selected region
Step
- Execute Feature >> Automatic Extract >> Hole Feature command as follows:
- 1. Select Feature >> Automatic Extract >> Hole Feature from the menu or click the corresponding icon on the Feature toolbar.
- 2. Drag surface set, then click Done on RMB menu. The following dialog box appears:
- 3. Input a Hole Finding Tolerance value in order to do tolerance-based feature finding. In Hole Type section, check 3D Hole if you want to extract cylinder type 3D holes, or 2D Circle Profile if you want to extract hole edges. When 3D Hole is checked, check Cylindrical in order to extract cylindrical hole features, or Conic conic hole features.
- If you specify a Bottom Value and a Top Value in Specify Hole Radius section, rapidform searches only the holes with specified radius at the bottom and top edge.
- In Post Process section, check Generate reference geometry of designed hole in order to generate a reference geometry for the designed hole; check Generate reference geometry of measured hole in order to generate a reference geometry for the measured shell; check Select neighbor region of found holes in order to select the regions around the hole features.
- 4. Click OK to finish this command.
Result
The hole regions are selected or used to generate some reference geometries.

Note
Because of the problem of some minute vibrations in scanning, a user needs to specify a tolerance in finding the hole features.
This command use surface only for finding hole information.
