Edit >> Transform >> Shell

Step

Execute Edit >> Transform >> Shell command as follows:
1. Select Edit >> Transform >> Shell from the menu or click the icon from the Edit toolbar.
2. Select shells to be transformed.
3. The following dialog box appears.

Input desired amount of coordinate transformation in each field. Rotate and Translate fields interpret the input value depending on the unit specified by External Data Unit in General tab of Preferences dialog box. ( See File >> Preferences ) Scale by a value larger than 1.0 means magnification in size, while scale by a value smaller than 1.0 means reduction in size. A shell is transformed on the basis of its local coordinate system.

Click Calc Principal Axis button to ignore all the previous input and transform the shell with respect to its principal axis. As a result, a shell is so transformed that its centroid moves to the zero point and its bounding box has the minimum volume.

If a user checks Use Local Coordinate option, rotation, translation and scale values are based on a local coordinate bound to the selected shell.

4. Click OK button to complete this command.
