• Curve >> Create >> Draw On Ref.Plane >> Grid command creates connected lines of grid type on a polygon model.

• Curve >> Create >> Draw On Ref.Plane >> Grid command is useful to create multiple rectangular type curves.

Step   

Execute Curve >> Create >> Draw On Ref.Plane >> Grid command as follows:

1. Select Curve >> Create >> Draw On Ref.Plane >> Grid from the menu. All the shells except the active on go into hidden state.

2. The following dialog box appears. Set the values of Number of Row and Number of Column and click OK.



3. Click right mouse button, the following popup menu appears.



    Pause, the default option of the popup menu, is used to temporarily stop the current command.( input ready state )

4. Select Start on the popup menu.

5. Pick points continuously by clicking the left mouse button in order as below. (Row:3, Column:3)



    When all the points are positioned, the shape of mouse pointer is changed to . 

6. Press right mouse button, the following popup menu appears again.



    The points can be moved by dragging them with the left mouse button after selecting Move Point on the popup menu.

7. When all the points are located,  Select End on the popup menu.

Result

• Blue lines of grid type are created on the polygon model as shown below. The new curves are registered to the Curve node of project tree window and the current layer of layer window.

• Equidistant interpolation points between the starting point and the end point are automatically generated.

• An arrow sign is displayed for each curve, which represents the direction of curve. The arrow sign can be hidden or shown with Curve  >> Options >> Show Direction command.

Note  

• When Start is selected on the popup menu, Pause is automatically deselected. Thus, once a user starts drawing the curves, he / she cannot move or rotate the model. Consequently, a model should be properly positioned before this operation.

• While a user draws the curves, he / she can change the position of points by selecting Move Point on the popup menu.

• If a user wants to cancel this operation, press ESC key or icon.
