Curve >> Create >> Draw Polyline

• Curve >> Create >> Draw Polyline command continuously creates the connected lines on the polygon model.

Step

Execute Curve >> Create >> Draw Polyline command as follows:

1. Select Curve >> Create >> Draw Polyline from the menu or click the icon from the curve toolbar. All the shells except the active shell become the hide state.

2. Press right mouse button, then a following popup menu appears.



The default option of the popup menu is Pause to temporarily stop the current command.( input ready state )

3. Select Start on the popup menu.

4. Pick a starting point and a end point with pressing the left mouse button. ( See Selecting point ) A red straight line appears, whose starting  and end points are the user-selected points.

5. Polyline can be created through continuously picking the next points.

6. When picking all the points is finished,  Select End on the popup menu with pressing the right mouse button.

Result

• The blue lines are finally created on the polygon model. The new curves are registered to the curve node of project tree window and to the current layer of layer window.

• The interpolation points between the starting point and the end point are automatically generated with the equidistance.

• An arrow sign is displayed for each curve, which represents the direction of curve. The arrow sign can be hidden or shown with Curve  >> Options >> Show Direction command.

Note

• Curve >> Create >> Draw Polyline can be applied only to the active shell.

• When Start is selected on the popup menu, Pause is automatically deselected. Thus, once a user starts drawing the curves, he / she cannot move or rotate the model. Consequently, a model should be properly positioned before the execution of this operation.

• While a user draws the curves, he / she can change the position of points with selecting Move Point on the popup menu.

• If a user wants to cancel the operation, press ESC key or icon.
