Build >> Triangulate >> Surface >> 2D
Build >> Triangulate >> Surface >> 2D command creates faces by triangulating a shell.
Build >> Triangulate >> Surface >> 2D command projects vertices in three dimensional space onto two dimensional plane and then, apply Delaunay Triangulation process to projected vertices. Thus, for proper triangulation, all the vertices must be projected onto XY plane without overlap.
Build >> Triangulate >> Surface >> 2D command can be applied only to shells without faces.
Step
- Execute Build >> Triangulate >> Surface >> 2D command as follows:
- 1. Select Build >> Triangulate >> Surface >> 2D command from the menu or click the corresponding icon from the Build toolbar.
- 2. Select a shell to be triangulated. ( See Shell selection ) and click Done on the right mouse shortcut menu.
- 3. The following dialog box appears.
![]()
Facing angle is larger than field specifies an angle value. Faces with angle between the scanning direction and its face normal bigger than this value will be deleted.
Note
This menu is disabled if there is no faceless shell.
If the shell selected is read from a PTS format file and is of MEASURED type, triangulation process is performed in its local coordinate system. That is, vertices are projected onto the local XY plane and triangulated. ( See File )
