Registration is the process that aligns two or more shells on the basis of the coordinate of a fixed shell. It calculates the exact position of each shell by utilizing some common geometries between them. Therefore, to use the registration function in rapidform, the scanned views of an object should have overlapped region.
Registration process is performed in two stages: manual registration between 2 Shells and automatic global registration of all the shells.
Build
>> Register >> 2 Shells >> Initial
command roughly aligns one shell to another using common geometric features on
them. Common geometric features, also called
corresponding points, are specified by a user.
Build >>
Register >> Fine
command exactly matches all the selected shells simultaneously using the overlapped region
found automatically.
Step
- Perform registration process of multiple shells as follows:
- 1. Decide the base shell which is to be fixed.
- 2. Execute Build >> Register >> 2 Shells >> Initial and approximately match the base shell and another one.
- 3. Repeat step 1 and 2 until all the shells to be aligned take their approximate positions.
- 4. Execute Build >> Register >> Fine and complete this process.
