(1) MDL Version
MDL is upgraded to 6.0 version.
(2) Surface Healing
When import IGES surfaces, the performance of the healing functions are improved.
(3) VRML File Import
Now if one WRL file contains transformation information, you will be asked if you want to use them.
(1) Edit > Clipboard
A new option named Total is added to the Translational Offset and Rotational Offset section. Once its value is specified, each offset amount for multiple pattern copy will be automatically calculated by the number of multiplicity.
And for the solid mirroring, surfaces are mirrored first, and then solid will be created from them.
(2) View > Set Trackball Center
Now it is possible to set trackball center without exiting the current operation.
(3) Back Face Rendering & Color
Now the back face can be rendered. File > Preferences command contains several options for this purpose. You can render the back faces using the complementary color of the front faces color, the front face color, or a custom color.
(4) Ref. Geometry > Create > Plane > Offset Plane
Now you can dynamically drag the picked plane to a desired position and a new plane will be created there.
(5) Shell Trackball
Now the shell trackball has scaling widgets. Correspondingly a scaling snap option is added. If mouse pointer is put inside the trackball, free rotation can be done.
(6) Shell Transparence
Now the transparent shells are drawn in the order of the z-depth of their bounding box centers.
(7) Publish ICF
The ICF file is compatible with ICF viewer version 1.0.2.5.
(8) License Valid Period
Now a message appears in the program title bar showing how many days left till the license expires.
(1) Build > Register > 2 Shells > Pick 3 Ref. Points
Now this function supports vertex shell.
(1) Select > Select By Color
Now this function supports vertex shell.
(2) Tool > Smooth > Paint
“Preserve Marked Edges/Vertices” option is added. If it is checked, the marked edges/ vertices will not be moved when smoothing is done.
(3) Tool > Decimate > High Quality
Now color can be preserved. You can choose to preserve vertex color or create texture image. This function applies only to whole shell decimation.
(4) Tool > Split Edges > By Curves
Previously it could only re-arrange vertices around the selected curves and fails on splitting boundary edges. Now it can also split faces across selected curves and work well on splitting boundary edges.
(5) Tool > Trim Region
Previously it could only re-arrange vertices around the selected curves and fails on trimming boundary edges. Now it can also split faces across selected curves and work well on splitting boundary edges. As well you can choose to keep, delete or copy the trimmed region.
(1) Curve > Edit > Deform
Now this function has two new options on the RMB menu. One is “Sync Seam Points”. It controls whether the seam point of a closed curve will still connects both ends while the curve is under deformation. Another one is “C1-continuous Closed Curve”. It controls whether C1-continuity of a closed curve will be maintained while it is under deformation.
(2) Silhouette Curve
Now the internal constraint of the control point number of silhouette curve (Curve > Create > Silhouette > From Shell/Curve > Create > Silhouette > From Surface) is removed. Also one Smooth Curve option is added.
(3) Curve > Edit > Transform
“Use Local Coordinate” option is added. If it is checked, transformation will be based on a picked reference coordinate.
(1) Surface > Create > Auto Surfacing
Now it is possible to import/export patch network. This may save a lot of time spent on creating a new patch network.
(2) Surface > Edit > Transform
“Use Local Coordinate” option is added. If it is checked, transformation will be based on a picked reference coordinate.
(1) Measure Menu
Now Measure menu commands appear in Feature workbench also.
(2) Solid > Tool > Boolean > Union
Now multiple selection is supported.
(3) Solid > Edit > Transform
“Use Local Coordinate” option is added. If it is checked, transformation will be based on a picked reference coordinate.
(4) Feature > Interactive Extract > Polygonal Trim Surface
A new option is added to the RMB menu. It automatically creates trimmed cylindrical surface from points selected on a cylinder area.
(1) InterOp Upgrade
Now InterOp is upgraded to R15 SP1.
You can directly import the following CAD files:
Ø ACIS (sat, sab): Up to ACIS R15
Ø CATIA V4 (model): 4.1.9 to 4.2.4
Ø CATIA V5 (CATPart): V5R2-R15
Ø Parasolid (x_t, x_b): Parasolid 10.0 to 16.0.115
Ø Pro/E (prt, asm): Pro/E 16 to Wildfire2
Ø SolidWorks (sldprt): SolidWorks 98 to 2005
Ø Unigraphics (prt): Unigraphics 11 to 18, NX1, NX2 and NX3.
(2) General Options
The Result Type option is no longer supported.
(3) Convert to Shell Options
This option has been removed.
