Three variants of Wrap > Fill allow you to edit the polygon object’s surface by filling in regions of the object and increasing its volume. The way that volume is added depends on the distribution of points in the selected area and the selected variant of the operation. When a Fill operation is applied, the original point set is not altered. The addition of volume to the surface results in new connectivity between the original points.
The variants of Wrap > Fill are:
Wrap > Fill > Layer
- adds a single layer of volume on top of the selected area. This is not
geometrically intelligent, and occasionally produces results that look
like spikes, so use it only on small regions of the model.
Wrap > Fill > Up - fills any concave parts of
the selected region. This can be applied to small or large areas, adding
volume until the selected area is filled. The Fill Up operation is useful
for editing stair-step regions where the direction of slicing is not perpendicular
to the surface.
Wrap > Fill > Edges
- intelligently defines hard features of a model, such as edges, that
may have been blurred during scanning. The Fill Edges operation allows
you to select the areas that require additional volume and fill them easily.
To use any variant of Wrap > Fill:
If Wrap > Fine Tune is not already activated, do it now.
Click Fill > Edges, Fill > Up, or Fill > Layer, or a corresponding icon on the toolbar.
The selected area is filled automatically.
