The View menu controls the user’s view of objects in the Viewing Area, such as view angles, colors, and sizes.
Objects - controls which objects are active in the Model Manager and which objects appear in the Viewing Area.
Selected Only - (in conjunction with Entire Model) toggles the view between the selected portion of an object and the entire object.
Entire Model - (in conjunction with Selected Only) toggles the view between the selected portion of an object and the entire object.
Fit
Model to View - adjusts the zoom level of the visible object
so that it fills the Viewing Area.
Magnify In
- (or the Magnify In icon) zooms the view to a user-specified area. Select
the menu item or click the icon, then click the left mouse button on the
object and drag a frame around the area to be magnified.
Magnify Out
- (or the Magnify Out icon) un-zooms the view of the object in the Viewing
Area.
Rotate - controls the affect of pointing devices (the trackball and the middle mouse button) on the reorientation of objects in the Viewing Area.
Set
Rotation Center - sets rotation to occur about a specified
location instead of the model origin.
Reset Rotation Center - restores the origin as the model’s center of rotation.
Shading - assists the user in visualizing a physical object from an abstract view.
Projection - may help the user with depth perception.
Surface - controls the display of closed surfaces and complete surfaces.
Frame Layout - affects the number of windows in the Viewing Area.
Predefined Views - sets the current object to one of seven common viewing angles.
User-Defined Views - In addition to the seven pre-defined views (selectable through icons to the right of the Viewing Area), the user can customize a view. User-defined views are useful in the automation of customized reports.
Reset - reverts views and/or the bounding box to previous settings.
