Transform is short for “transformation matrix.” A transformation matrix contains that translation and rotation data that represents a completed alignment process. A transformation matrix can be saved, edited, and/or reloaded so that it can be re-used on the same or another object.
Tools > Transform > Save Transform recalls and saves the model’s last change in position in the world coordinate system. The change may have been achieved by any of several operations, including Move to Origin, Move to Exact Position, and many functions at Tools > Alignment. Tools > Transform > Load Transform applies the transform matrix (change in position) to another model. These operations are useful if you consistently receive models from the same scanning system and must adjust every model’s position. Tools > Transform > Edit Transform allows you to adjust the transform, if necessary, before you apply it to another model.
