Tools > Registration > Target Cleanup removes spherical registration targets or circular sticker registration targets from a point or polygon object.
(A registration target appears in the Model Manager as Target N in the Datums sub-folder of a point or polygon object. Spherical registration targets are typically created by Tools > Registration > Detect Sphere Targets. Sticker registration targets cannot be created by Geomagic software, yet. A registration target can be created by hand by changing the name of a point datum to Target N.)
This function has two modes of operation:
The controls are:
Target Type radio buttons -
Spheres radio button - removes spherical registration targets (named Target N). This mode is an alternative to the target removal technique offered by the Remove Sphere Data function of Tools > Registration > Target Registration.
Stickers radio button and Diameter decimal field - (for Polygon objects only) removes sticker registration targets by deleting a spherical zone whose center is the center of the sticker and by filling the hole with new polygons that conform to nearby curvature. Diameter specifies the diameter of the spherical zone that will be removed. If Diameter is less than the actual diameter of the stickers, parts of the stickers will fail to be removed.
Keep Datums checkbox - specifies that the underlying Target N datum will not be removed from the object even after the sphere is removed or the sticker is removed and hole is filled.
OK button - saves the modified object to the Model Manager and closes the dialog.
Cancel button - terminates the dialog without removing registration targets from the object.
