Model Geometry Parameters -
• Detect Curvature -
Enable checkbox - specifies whether the Simple and Complex values behave as described.
Simple (integer) - assigns a value to the low end of the Model Geometry slider at Contours > Auto Surface.
Complex (integer) - assigns a value to the high end of the Model Geometry slider at Contours > Auto Surface.
Contour Lines -
Simplify checkbox - specifies whether all feature lines form closed loops.
Curvature Level decimal field - specifies the amount of curvature required for a line to be designated a feature line (a line that separates or designate’s a model’s components).
Patch Boundaries parameters - affect Construct Boundaries, Relax (All) Feature Lines, and Relax Boundaries (Linear) functions:
Optimize Vertex Degree checkbox - limits the amount of high-degree and low-degree corners.
Prismatic Shapes checkbox - when on, Contours > Auto Surface uses the workflow involving Contours > Detect Contours and Contours Subdivide/Extend Contours, rather than the workflow involving Contours > Detect Curvature and Patches > Construct Patches.
Simple (integer) - sets the low end of the Target Patch Count, a value that represents the number of individual patches to be used to define the surface of the model.
Complex (integer) - sets the high end of the Target Patch Count
Surface Detail parameters - affect the Construct Grids function:
Grid Construction - affects the number of grid lines per patch:
Min (integer) - specifies the minimum number of grid line sper patch.
Max (integer) - specifies the maximum number of grid line sper patch.
Surface Control Points - affects the NURBS > Fit Surfaces function:
Min (integer) - specifies the minimum number of control points on each spline boundary
Max (integer) - specifies the maximum number of control points on each spline boundary
Tension decimal field - specifies a balance between accuracy (a lower number) and smoothness (a higher number).
Tools > Options > Operations > Comparison contains settings that affect Analysis > 3D Compare.
3D Comparison Parameters -
Deviation Measurement dropdown -
Shortest Distance - shortest distance refers to distance between test point and reference point on mesh model.
Orthogonal - measures the projection of the deviation to local surface normal on the reference model.
Critical Normal Angle decimal field - specifies
integer field - specifies
(integer) - specifies
Texture Resolution group - allows user to specify texture resolution for display of comparison results on CAD models.
Resolution Type dropdown -
Automatic - let system to auto-detect most appropriate resolution.
Fixed Texture Size - allow to specify texture resolution by approximate number of texels to be displayed. In this case value from Texture Size combo box will be used.
Fixed Resolution - allow to specify texel size explicitly.
Texture Size dropdown -
Texel Size decimal field - specifies
Tools > Options > Operations > Registration contains settings that affect Tools > Registration > Manual Registration and Global Registration.
Manual Registration Parameters - affect Manual Registration.
Initial Iterations dropdown (used only for 1-point registration) - Once the user has identified a pair of matching points, with corresponding views, an initial alignment is performed by simply moving the point together. If "Initial Iterations" is enabled, a proper registration will be performed automatically after the initial alignment. This typically gives the user the desired result (properly aligned scans), at the expense of time.
Global Registration Parameters - affect Global Registration.
Iterations for Convergence integer field - specifies a number of iterations after which to stop the process if no improvement is achieved.
Overlap Neighborhood Size integer field - affects the detection of correspondence of points on different objects.
Use Connection Graph checkbox -
checked - look for corresponding points on objects with sufficient overlap.
not checked - look for corresponding points on all overlapping objects.
Sequential checkbox - specifies whether Tools > Registration > Global Registration uses the Sequential or the Simultaneous algorithm. If the Model Manager contains 20 or more objects, this setting is ignored and the lower-performance but higher-volume Sequential algorithm is used.
Match dropdown (Closest, default Median, or Random) - affects registration of multiple objects in overlapping regions.
Near Point dropdown (Directed, Undirected, or default No Boundary) - specifies a method of resolving inexact correspondence; applicable primarily to unordered point objects.
Tools > Options > Operations > Wrap contains settings that affect Points > Wrap.
Large Data Mode -
Save Wrap Result checkbox - saves a wrapped or merged model before it is decimated (to the decimation triangle count) to the working directory as WrapResult.obj. This model may be used by other applications.
Noise Reduction dropdown menu (Freeform, Prismatic shapes conservative, Prismatic shapes aggressive) - specifies the default technique used by the Wrap function.
Free-form - usually optimal for organic shapes.
Prismatic shapes conservative - for mechanical shapes.
Prismatic shapes aggressive - for mechanical shapes.
Surface Wrap -
Max Circumference (Holes) decimal field - specifies the size of the hole which will be filled automatically during surface wrap.
Volume Wrap -
Optimization Type dropdown - specifies pre-sampling value for volume wrap computation
Memory - auto-detect mode, based on available memory.
Manual - number of target points is minimum of the number of model point and number from Maximum integer field.
None - no sampling is performed.
Maximum integer field - maximum number of points allowed to be used in wrap computation in manual mode. 0 means no sampling.
Auto Web Removal checkbox - specifies whether to remove webs that are generated during wrapping, such as the webs that might form between the fingers on a hand.
Decimate - affects Polygons > Decimate.
Curvature Threshold Count integer field -
Tolerance Outlier Percentage decimal field -
Tools > Options > Operations > Miscellaneous contains settings that affect other functions.
Surface Fitting -
Fix Sharp Corner Continuity checkbox - If checked, will produce a rounded corner for intersections of sharpened and unsharpened edges.
Datum Creation -
Use Point Segmentation checkbox - specifies whether, for plane-fitting in a point model, the system discards points beforehand that are placed on neighboring faces. Note that this filtering happens before the fitting of the plane and has nothing to do with outlier removal by the fitting algorithm.
Datum Fitting With Outliers - causes Tools > Datums > Create Datums to use higher-precision algorithms for plane datums and axis datums on point and polygon objects. These algorithms comply with PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Braunschweig, Germany) requirements, but outlying points are not eliminated and the algorithms do not match the performance of the standard ones. Use this setting carefully.
