Tools > Options allows the Administrator to override factory defaults and set site-specific parameters.
Most option settings take effect immediately. Some take effect after the application is restarted.
So that users on many computers can share a set of operating parameters, the administrator can customize a single installation, save the settings to a file with a .dat extension, copy the file or make it available on a network, and import the parameters into other installations of the application. Use Tools > Options > General > Miscellaneous > Options > Export and Import.
For every set of options in every category, the following buttons appear at the bottom of the window:
OK - accept the options as they appear in the window.
Cancel - close the window without saving new settings.
Default - revert all settings to the factory defaults.
Restore - restore all settings to the value in effect when you opened the options window.
The options are divided into the following categories:
General - affects this application’s interaction with the operating system.
Operations - settings that establish defaults for specific functions.
Display - controls the behavior of graphical tools in the user interface.
Graphics - controls the behavior of graphics-rendering software.
Hardware - controls the behavior of peripheral devices.
