Tools > 3D Features > Extract Datums - creates Datums based on the structure of 3D Features.
Features group - specifies the one or more 3D Features whose Datums can be extracted when you press Execute.
Filter dropdown (Plane, Cone, Cylinder, and Sphere) - limits the members of the list to the 3D Features of a given type.
List of 3D Features - Click one, Ctrl-Click two or more, or Shift-Click several names. Datums of the highlighted 3D Features can be extracted when you press Execute.
Hide Existing Datums checkbox - specifies whether to avoid clutter in the Viewing Area by hiding all Datums other than those which are highlighted in the List.
Datums group - specifies the Datum types that will be extracted and placed in the Model Manager. If more than one 3D Feature is highlighted above, multiple Datums will be extracted.
List of Datums - Click one, Ctrl-Click two or more, or Shift-Click several Datum types. Each highlighted Datum type will be created on the object when you press Execute. The set of Datum types that appears depends on the 3D Feature.
Bottom Point (for a cylinder, cone)
Center (for a sphere)
Center Point (for a plane, cylinder, cone)
Top Point (for a cylinder, cone)
Axis (for a cylinder, cone)
Bottom Plane (for a cylinder, cone)
Top Plane (for a cylinder, cone)
Normal (for a plane)
Principle Axis (for a plane)
Secondary Axis (for a plane)
Plane (for a plane)
OK button - performs the extraction, creates new Datum(s) in a Datums folders under the object in the Model Manager, and closes the dialog.
Cancel button - removes any new Datum(s) from the object in the Model Manager and terminates the dialog.
Apply button - performs the extraction, creates new Datum(s) in a Datums folder under the object in the Model Manager, and leaves the dialog open for additional work.
