Tools > Color > Edit Colors (applicable to a point object that has vertex color, and to a polygon object that has vertex color or texture color) is a set of functions that change the color of selected areas of point or polygon objects.
Use Ctrl-Z and Ctrl-Y to un-do and re-do the last action.
The controls are:
Edit Mode dropdown - sets the mode of operation of the mouse
Pick Color - In this mode, set the drawing color by a) clicking a single point of color on the object in the Viewing Area, or b) by clicking the Select Color button and picking from a color palette. The color chosen here is the color that is drawn by the drawing tools.
Blend - All tools at Edit > Selection Tools act as drawing tools. Lines and shapes that you create with the drawing tools are drawn with the 100% opacity, or with the opacity specified by the Opacity slider below.
Median Filter - All tools at Edit > Selection Tools act as drawing tools. Sets the color intensities of pixels under the brush to the median value of their neighbors.
Soften Filter - All tools at Edit > Selection Tools act as drawing tools. Softens abrupt changes of color under the brush.
Brush Size decimal field (1 to 50; applicable only when the selected drawing tool is Line or Paintbrush. See Edit > Selection Tools.) - controls the thickness of the line that is drawn by the Line tool and Paintbrush tool. 1 generates a thin line; 50 generates a thick line.
Disable Lighting checkbox - deactivates the simulated light source.
Current Color group - indicates the current drawing color and allows the selection of a new color from a pallette
Red indicator (0 to 254) - indicates the level of red in the current drawing color.
Green indicator (1 to 254) - indicates the level of green in the current drawing color.
Blue indicator - indicates the level of blue in the current drawing color.
Current Color indicator - presents a sample of the current drawing color.
Select Color button - presents a color palette for the selection of a drawing color. The other method of selecting a drawing color is to set editing mode to Pick Color and to click a point of color on the object in the Viewing Area.
Blend checkbox (only when the editing mode is Blend) and Opacity slider (a range from low to high) - controls the degree to which a newly drawn color obliterates the color behind it. Low opacity is a "watery" color, and high opacity blocks all other color.
Softness slider (low, medium, and high; only when the editing mode is Soften Filter) - controls the degree of color-softening that is performed by the drawing tools.
OK button - saves the modified object to the Model Manager.
Cancel button - closes the dialog without saving changes.
Reset button - restores settings that existed when this function started.
