Tools > Features > Convert to Datum converts an active feature to a datum.
Datums group - a set of conversion preferences. A datum-appropriate set of the following checkboxes becomes active:
Center checkbox - specifies that a datum point will be created at the feature’s geometric center.
Center Axis checkbox - specifies that a datum axis will be created through the center of the feature and perpendicular to the plane of the feature. The Flip checkbox specifies whether to flip the normal of the datum axis.
First Axis checkbox - specifies that a datum axis will be created on the plane of a slot feature in the longer dimension. The Flip checkbox specifies whether to flip the normal of this axis.
Second Axis specifies that a datum axis will be created on the plane of a slot feature in the shorter dimension., perpendicular to the First Axis. The Flip checkbox specifies whether to flip the normal of this axis.
Plane checkbox - specifies that a datum axis will be created in the same plane as the feature. The Flip checkbox specifies whether to flip the normal of the plane.
Next button - converts the feature to a datum and leaves the dialog open so that the user can select and convert another feature.
OK button - converts the feature to a datum closes the dialog.
Cancel button - closes the dialog.
