Polygons > Repair Intersections repairs intersecting triangles. Intersecting triangles are sometimes generated during wrapping, converting a CAD model to polygons, or editing a polygon model with certain functions.
It is good practice to repair intersecting triangles before advancing to Shape Phase.
The dialog appears only if the object has intersecting triangles that can be repaired.
Mode group - specifies the mode of repair that will take place when you press OK.
Select Only radio button - Do not perform repair, but select the offending triangles and leave them selected when the function closes so that the user can find and deal with them in another way.
Relax/Clean radio button - Attempt to repair the offending triangles by moving vertices until the mesh is somewhat flat. This is like untangling a tangled kite string.
Defeature radio button - Repair the offending triangles by deleting them entirely and filling the hole. This is like cutting the knots out of a tangled kite string and inserting a patch.
Statistics group - presents an analysis of the existing damage.
Intersecting Triangles integer field - indicates the number of intersecting triangles that will be repaired when you press OK.
OK button - saves the repaired object to the Model Manager and closes the dialog. It is good practice to re-run this function to verify that no intersecting triangles remain.
Cancel button - terminates the dialog without saving a repaired object to the Model Manager.
