Polygons > Relax adjusts the crease angle between selected triangles (or between all triangles if none are selected) such that the mesh becomes more flat.
Smoothness Level (nine degrees in the range Min to Max) - is analogous to number of strokes when smoothing a clay model.
Strength (nine degrees in the range Min to Max) - is analogous to the pressure exerted when smoothing a clay model. When Strength is high, the object will become more indented. The difference between Smoothness and Strength is more apparent on certain polygon objects.
Fix Boundary checkbox - specifies whether to lock the coordinates of boundary lines (if any) during the relaxation.
Reset button - restores the polygon object to its original state.
Analysis group -
Display Deviations checkbox - presents a deviation spectrum in the Viewing Area to indicate the degree of change in the polygon mesh.
Edit Spectrum checkbox - presents of set of controls for modifying the deviation spectrum. See All About Spectrums.
Statistics group - presents mathematical details about the most recent relaxation:
Maximum Distance - indicates the greatest distance that any one vertex moved.
Average Distance - indicates the average distance that all vertices moved.
Standard Deviation - indicates the standard deviation of all vertices that moved.
OK button - applies the Smoothness and Strength settings to the mesh, saves changes to the Model Manager, and closes the dialog.
Cancel button - terminates the dialog without saving any changes.
Apply button - applies the Smoothness and Strength settings to the mesh, and leaves the dialog open. Next, use Reset or work with the deviation spectrum.
