Polygons > Offset Selection raises or lowers a selected set of polygons by a given distance in the positive or negative normal direction, and creates additional triangles in a narrow surrounding band so that the overall surface is not broken.
Distance decimal field - specifies the distance, positive or negative, that selected polygons will be moved.
Influence slider (Min to Max) - affects the width of the surrounding band in which polygons are inserted.
OK button - saves modifications to the object in the Model Manager and closes the dialog.
Cancel button - terminates the dialog without saving changes to the object.
Next button - prepares for the selection of a new area to be offset.
Start the function, use selection tools to select a region or regions, type a Distance and press Enter, adjust the Influence if necessary, then press Next. Repeat as necessary, then press OK.
