Polygons > Boolean Operations (applicable when two polygon objects are active in the Model Manager) generates a new object that is the union or intersection of two objects, or one object minus the intersection of the other. These operations are analogous to OR, AND, and AND NOT.
Upon starting this function, press Apply to calculate all possible results. Then press a Boolean Output radio button, adjust the Behavior group, and
Output Object group - specifies the name and contents of the object that will be created.
Name field - specifies the name of the resulting object, as it will appear in the Model Manager. Name is automatically generated but can be overridden by the user.
Boolean Output radio buttons - specifies the contents of Name. Pick one:
Object 1 radio button - the first polygon object.
Object 2 radio button - the other polygon object.
Union radio button - a combination of the first object and the other object.
Intersect radio button - the portions of both objects that share the same space.
Subtract 1 radio button - the second object, minus the portion that is shared with the first object.
Subtract 2 radio button - the first object, minus the portion that is shared with the second object.
Behavior group - controls other behavior of the function.
Create Boundary checkbox - specifies whether a boundary line will exist on the output object at every intersection of the first and second objects.
Keep Original Objects checkbox (default Off) - specifies whether the original two objects will exist in the Model Manager after this function is closed.
Orient Result checkbox - specifies whether to distinguish interior sides of triangles from exterior sides by the use of blue and gold color (assuming that Backfacing is turned on in the Primitives Manager).
OK button - saves the results to an object named Name.
Cancel button - terminates the dialog without saving results to the Model Manager.
Apply button - calculates all possible results. Next, press a radio button to specify the contents of the output object, then press OK.
