Points > Project Points (applicable to unordered data only) maps selected points onto a geometric shape such as a plane or cylinder created by Points > Create > Plane or Points > Create > Cylinder. The controls are:
Object to Project on drop-down menu - displays a list of existing plane and cylinder objects into which the selected points can be projected.
OK button - completes the operation and closes the dialog.
Cancel button - closes the dialog without projecting the selected points.
To project some points:
Using a variety of selection techniques, select some or all points of a point object in the Viewing Area.
Activate Points > Project Points.
Select the name of a geometric shape into which points will be projected.
Click OK.
