Points > Detect (applicable to unordered data only) is a set of functions that detect the existence of geometric shapes in a point object:
Points > Detect > Planes - detects the presence of planes.
Points > Detect > Cylinders - detects the presence of cylinders.
The result is a sub-object named "Plane" (or "Cylinder" or "Sphere") in a Clusters folder under the point object. To make further use of a detected shape, right-click its name in the Model Manager, click Select, and see that the detected cluster of points becomes selected in the Viewing Area.
