Points > Create (applicable to unordered data only) creates a Plane or Cylinder that fits selected points.
Points > Create > Plane - creates a plane that fits selected points.
Points > Create > Cylinder - creates a cylinder that fits selected points.
Points > Create > Plane creates a plane object that fits a set of selected points on an unordered point object. The selected points should be generally planar.
The named plane is saved as a separate model in the Model Manager. It is then possible to move selected points or polygons onto that plane by use of Points > Project Points.
The parameters are:
Name input field - displays a suggested name for the plane.
OK button - creates the plane and saves it to the Model Manager.
Cancel button - closes the dialog without creating the plane.
Points > Create > Cylinder creates a plane object that fits a set of selected points on an unordered point object. The selected points should be generally cylindrical.
The cylinder is saved as a separate model in the Model Manager. It is then possible to move selected points or polygons onto that cylinder with the Project Points operation.
