Patches > Zip Patch Layers removes or subdivides an entire row of patches. When a layer is removed, the surrounding rows zip themselves together and cover the empty area.
Depending on the type of surface, this function can reduce the number of patches without changing the general patch structure.
Click the desired patch layer
Zip radio button - combines two rows of patches into one row.
Unzip radio button - divides a row of patches in half.
Execute button - performs the Zip or Unzip function.
OK button - saves modified patches to the Shape object in the Model Manager and closes the dialog.
Cancel button - terminates the dialog without saving modified patches.
Clear button - erases the selection of a row of patches. To continue, click a row of patches.
To remove or subdivide a row of patches:
Click Patches > Zip Patch Layers. A dialog opens.
Select the row or column of patch edges you want to remove or subdivide by clicking near the patch.
Select the desired option: Zip or Unzip.
Click Execute to apply the change.
Go back to Step 2, or click OK to accept the new patch layout, or click Cancel to exit the operation without making changes.
