The configuration of the “standard” background grid applies to all objects across the entire application, except Section and Comparison sub-objects. See also Section Background Grid.
Back Only and 2 Panel radio buttons - specifies the conditions under which the Background Grid shall appear:
Back Only - specifies that the grid appears behind the object only when the object is orthogonal to the X, Y, or Z plane of the world coordinate system.
2 Panel - specifies that a grid appears at all times, with respect to the two most visually appealing axes of the world coordinate system.
X-Axis group - specifies the extent of the grid lines on the grid plane that is orthogonal to the X axis of the world coordinate system.
Min field - the minimum extent of the grid on this plane.
Max field - the maximum extent of the grid on this plane.
Spacing field - the distance between grid lines on this plane.
Y-Axis group - specifies the extent of the grid lines on the grid plane that is orthogonal to the X axis of the world coordinate system.
Same as X checkbox - specifies whether Y-Axis values are the same as for X. If not, the following Y-specific values apply:
Min field - the minimum extent of the grid on this plane.
Max field - the maximum extent of the grid on this plane.
Spacing field - the distance between grid lines on this plane.
Z-Axis group - specifies the extent of the grid lines on the grid plane that is orthogonal to the X axis of the world coordinate system.
Same as X checkbox - specifies whether Z-Axis values are the same as for X. If not, the following Z-specific values apply:
Min field - the minimum extent of the grid on this plane.
Max field - the maximum extent of the grid on this plane.
Spacing field - the distance between grid lines on this plane.
Format group - controls the format of the labels on the grid.
Number of Decimals field - specifies the number of decimal places that appear in the labels on the grid.
Auto Sizing group - controls the automatic scaling of grid lines.
Fit Bounding Box button - adjusts the extent of the grid lines to match the size of the object’s bounding box.
Grow button - increases the extent of the grid lines in small increments.
Shrink button - decreases the extent of the grid lines in small increments.
Force Cube checkbox - forces the grid to be of equal width and height, even if Fit Bounding Box is pressed.
Auto Size on Load checkbox - causes the grid to be sized appropriately for the current object, as opposed to recalling the grid size from the previously loaded object.
Display Text Background Color checkbox - specifies whether to display numeric labels with the contrasting background color that is configured at Tools > Options > General > Themes > Colors > (Edit) > Background Grid > Display Text Background Color.
Report Text Background Color checkbox - specifies whether to generate reports with numeric labels with the contrasting background color that is configured at Tools > Options > General > Themes > Colors > (Edit) > Background Grid > Report Text Background Color.
OK button - saves changes to background grid configuration.
Cancel button - closes the popup without saving changes to grid configuration.
