The Display Manager presents controls
Accessories group -
World Axes checkbox - specifies whether to superimpose the axes of the world coordinate system onto the object in the Viewing Area.
Axes Indicator checkbox - specifies whether to display the object’s axes in the Viewing Area.
Background
Grid checkbox and Options
button - specifies whether to display a grid behind the object in the
Viewing Area, and controls the behavior of the grid. A grid gives the
user a sense of an object’s position with respect to the world coordinate
system. The colors of grids are configurable at Tools
> Options > General > Themes > Color > Edit > Grids.
The controls for the Background Grid are context-sensitive:
Standard Background Grid - applies globally to all objects except Section and Comparison sub-objects, and is configurable when a Section or Comparison sub-object is not selected in the Model Manager.
Section Background Grid - applies to the currently selected Section or Comparison sub-object only, and is configurable only when a Section or Comparison sub-object is selected in the Model Manager.
Disable Lighting checkbox - specifies whether deactivate the simulated light source, leaving a “dark” object with no visible contour.
Depth Attenuation checkbox - makes model features that are further away seem less distinct than those nearer.
Depth Plane checkbox - specifies whether the Depth Plane appears in the Viewing Area. For details, see Tools > Alignment > Depth Plane. When checked, the following is applicable.
Depth field - specifies the position of the Depth Plane relative to its starting position.
Front Plane checkbox - The front plane modifies the appearance of an object such that only the parts of the object that lie on one side of the plane are visible in the Viewing Area.
Clip Only checkbox - specifies whether to remove the representation of the front plane from the Viewing Area, leaving only the clipped object.
Depth field - The initial position of the Front Plane is perpendicular to the user’s line of sight to the object. This setting affects the relative distance of the front plane from the user’s eye.
Overlay group - controls the inclusiveness of text that appears in the lower left corner of the Viewing Area.
Memory checkbox - whether to indicate free memory statistics.
Model Info checkbox - whether to indicate the number of polygons, points, faces, edges, or other object-specific statistics.
Bounding Box checkbox - whether to indicate the dimensions of the object’s bounding box, even if the bounding box is not visible. When checked, the following is applicable.
Short checkbox - specifies whether to abbreviate the dimensions that are displayed.
Macro Server checkbox - whether to indicate operational statistics about the Macro Server. See Macro Server Manager.
Display % - for both point objects and polygon objects that appear in the viewing Area, the following values apply. Values less than 100 may increase the perceived performance of the application.
Static - establishes the percentage of the object that is displayed in the Viewing Area while at rest.
Dynamic - establishes the percentage of the object that is displayed during dynamic graphic operations such as rotation. Reduce this value if graphic performance must be increased. “Display % for Dynamic Polys” is affected by Tools > Options > Advanced > Miscellaneous > Max. Triangles.
Move As - specifies a technique of graphic rendering for use during the movement of objects in the Viewing Area. If the performance of your graphics hardware is a problem, select a technique other than Normal.
Bounding Box - only the object’s bounding box is visible during movement.
Points - only the object’s underlying points are visible during movement.
Wire Frame - only the object’s polygon edges and boundary lines are visible during movement.
