This button is the primary function of the Geomagic Project Manager. It can break a single huge object, or multiple huge files (which typically represent a single object), into:
a set of low-resolution (low-res) files that are easy to manipulate, and
a set of corresponding high-resolution (high-res) files that contain all the original data.
Input Type group -
Single Large Data Set radio button - Your intent is create multiple low-res files and high-res counterparts of a single huge file, so that you can work with them easily. The input file can be a polygon object (in .stl or .obj format only, but not .wrp), or a point object (in any format).
The output is a set of low-res files and a corresponding set of high-res files, all in the Project Directory (in the file system).
Multiple High-Res Files radio button - Your intent is to open one file with multiple high-resolution objects, or multiple high-resolution files that typically represent a single part, and create low-res counterparts in the file system.
The output will be one low-res file per high-resolution input object.
Next button -
For Single Large Data Set, this advances the wizard to the Process Single Large Data Panel.
For Multiple High-Res Files, this advances the wizard to the Process Multiple Hi-Res Files Panel.
Cancel button - terminates this Preprocess Large Data Files function.
Input File text field and "..." button - This field must point to a single huge point or polygon object (.stl or .obj) in the file system.
Project Directory text field and "..." button - specifies the name of an empty directory in which multiple chunks of the Input File will be placed.
Output group - controls the size of the multiple chunks that will be output.
Maximum Triangles or Points Per File integer field - specifies the maximum size of each chunk (by limiting the number of triangles in a polygon object or the number of points in a point object).
Next button - The Project Manager will break the single large data set into multiple chunks, then treat them as multiple hi-res files. Therefore, this button advances this wizard to the Process Multiple Hi-Res Files Panel.
Back button - backtracks to the Pre-processing Wizard Panel.
Cancel button - terminates this Preprocess Large Data Files function.
Project Directory text field and "..." button (grayed out if the directory was already specified on the Process Single Large Data Set Panel) - specifies the name of a directory in which multiple high-res files exist. All files in this directory will be processed, so do not allow unrelated files to exist here. After processing, these high-res files will be moved to a subdirectory, and the processed files (high- and low-res components of the multiple high-res files) will reside here.
Output group -
Reduction Type group - specifies the size of the low-res components
% of Original Count radio button and percentage dropdown - The low-res components will have this percentage of the original's polygons or points.
Polygons or Points radio button and integer field - The low-res components will have an absolute number of polygons or points.
Curvature Priority (for Point Data Only) integer dropdown (0 to 10) - specifies the degree effort taken by the software to maintain the density of points that lie on curvature.
Import and Integrate All Low-Res Sections into a Single File checkbox - specifies whether to combine all low-res components into a single file named GeoLowIntegratedFile.wrp in the Project Directory (in addition to the individual low-res files in the Project Directory). The path and name of this Integrated File will be added to the Integrated File List for easy access.
OK button - performs the processing. Wait for a popup message that says "Done", then dismiss it. Results will exist in the Project Directory.
Back button - backtracks to the previous panel.
Cancel button - terminates this Preprocess Large Data Files function.
