CAD > Trim with Features (selectable the the active object is a CAD object that has Feature sub-objects) cuts holes in a CAD surface at locations that correspond to Feature sub-objects that correspond to features that were previously filled.
The CAD object must have Feature sub-objects that were added in the point or polygon phase and which correspond to holes that were filled in the polygon phase. The Feature sub-objects must have been left intact through the shape phase, NURBS surfacing, and conversion of the object to a CAD object.
Select Features group - specifies which of several existing Feature sub-objects will be used to cut a hole or holes in the CAD object. Click a single name in the list, or Shift-Click multiple names, or use the Select All button.
List of Curves Objects - a list of Feature sub-objects that exist in the Model Manager.
Select All button - highlights all listed Feature sub-objects.
Clear All button - removes all listed Features from the selection.
OK button - saves the modified CAD object to the Model Manager and closes the dialog.
Cancel button - closes the dialog without saving the CAD object.
Apply button - generates a preview of the trim operation and leaves the dialog open for further trimming.
To trim a CAD object with features:
Make sure the CAD model you wish to trim is active in the Model Manager.
Click CAD > Trim with Features. A dialog opens.
From the dropdown menu, choose one or more Features that represents one or more holes that must be cut from the CAD object.
Click Apply to preview the results. You can make alternate selections and click Apply as many times as necessary.
Click OK to accept the current results, or Cancel to exit without making changes.
