CAD > Trim with Curves (selectable when a CAD object is active in the Model Manager and a Curves Object exists in the Model Mangager) uses an existing Curves Object to cut holes in a CAD object.
The Curves Object may have been derived from one curve line or multiple curves lines. The Curves Object must represent one or more relatively small holes in the surface of the CAD object, but not a sectioning of the CAD object.
Select Curves group - specifies which of several existing Curves Objects will be used to cut a hole or holes in the CAD object. Click a single name in the list, or Shift-Click multiple names, or use the Select All button.
List of Curves Objects - a list of Curves Objects that exist in the Model Manager.
Select All button - highlights all listed Curves Objects.
Clear All button - removes all listed Curves Objects from the selection.
Make Hole checkbox (default Yes) - specifies that the Curves Object(s) represent regions to be removed from the CAD object. When this box is not checked, the Curves Object(s) represent regions that must be maintained, and all other regions will be removed.
OK button - saves changes to the CAD object and closes the dialog.
Cancel button - closes the dialog without saving results to model.
Apply button - removes parts of the CAD object that lie inside (or outside) the lines of the Curves Object(s), and leaves the dialog open.
To trim with a Curves Object:
Make sure a CAD object is active in the Model Manager, that a Curves Object exists, and that the CAD object and the Curves Object are in alignment.
Click CAD > Trim with Curve. A dialog appears.
From the dropdown menu, choose one or more Curves Object that represents one or more holes that must be cut from the CAD object.
Check the Make Hole checkbox.
Click Apply to preview the results.
Click OK to save the CAD object with new holes, or Cancel to exit without making changes.
