Check Tangent Continuity

Analysis > Check Tangent Continuity tests the continuity of the NURBS surface (the smoothness) between adjoining NURBS patches, and draws tan­gent lines to highlight the locations where patches do not meet each other within a given angle.

The parameters are:

• Control group -

• Tolerance (Deg) decimal field - The intersection of NURBS patches at or below this angle causes a tangent line to appear in the Viewing Area. The relative length of tangent lines indicates relative severity of non-smooth intersection.

• Display group -

• Normals checkbox - generates a red line to indicate the normal direc­tions of

• Unnamed field - lengthens and shortens the Normal lines in the View­ing Area.

• Statistics group -

• Minimum Angle indicator - the smallest non-smoothness detected.

• Maximum Angle indicator - the greatest non-smoothness detected.

• Average Angle indicator - the average non-smoothness detected.

• Done button - closes the dialog.

• Apply button - regenerates the display of imperfect patch alignment
