Springback Workbench
For sheet metal forming there are two types of deformation, plastic and elastic. Forming a blank to a bent shape involves the plastic or permanent stretch of the material. However while the part is in the die the forming forces will create a stress on the material, causing some elastic stretch. When the part is removed from the die and the forming forces are unloaded, elastic stretch in the part will be released and the part will experience springback. Although it is often neglected, springback can have an important effect on the resulting part shape. A large amount of springback will make it difficult to control the final dimensions of the part. The Springback branch in the Feature Tree has three items in its sub-tree:

Input
By right clicking on the Input branch, you can either Delete the springback results or edit the Property (name of the branch).Result
Forming Suite will generate a second mesh of the product geometry after springback. The default color for this mesh is green. By right clicking on Result item under the Springback folder, you may Delete the springback results, edit the Property (name of the branch), Export the mesh after springback to a Nastran (*.NAS) file, display the Shape of the mesh after springback (opens in a separate viewer), or view the Displacement results.
Shape
When you select the Shape icon
the shape of the mesh after springback will open in a separate viewer which
contains two icons in it's toolbar. These icons are Magnification and
Show/Hide Part.

Display of only the Mesh with Springback
Magnification
If
the Magnification icon
is selected the magnification dialog appears allowing
the user magnify the effect of the springback on the part mesh. The
magnification of the springback mesh is for visualization purposes only.

Show/Hide Part
If the Show/Hide Part icon
is selected the part mesh will be displayed or hidden with the springback mesh.
The part mesh will be grey and the springback mesh will be green.
