AutoReport is a tool that permits you to create a report wihtout messing with Report Template Editor or Report Editor. You access the AutoReport functionality selecting File-> AutoReport menuitem. AutoReport immediately starts and a log window appears:

This log window informs you about report composition progess, warnings and errors. If there isn't any messages log window automatically closes, otherwise after reading relevant information you can close the window pressing Close button. The composition process is interuptible at any time by clicking the Abort button.

The AutoReport process is divided in two stages: in the first stage report structure is composed, in the second stage report is generated and saved in a file. Between the two stages you will be asked to specify an output file and to choose a format from those available: RTF, PDF, HTML. See Section 10.4, "Report Generation" for futher information about report generation and available formats.

Alternatively you can create an AutoReport from the report editor and then edit it or maintain it in the project.
