You can access the report preview functionality both from Report Editor menu bar and Report Editor toolbar. The report preview process generates a report in HTML format in a temporary directory.
During report preview generation, a small dialog Figure 10.71, "Report Preview Progress" will inform you about the state of the process. In slow machines, the generation of a complex report, with several graphs, could take a very long time. You can stop the generation in any moment by clicking the button .
If the preview generation process hasn't created any log the dialog will close automatically at the end of the generation. Otherwise the dialog remain still open and, after reading all relevant messages, you must close it in order to see the generated preview.
The preview will be showed in the predefined HTML viewer, if you haven't defined any HTML viewer (see Section B.1.1, "General" for how to define and HTML viewer) you will be asked to define one. If you don't define or select an HTML viewer the report preview will displayed in an internal HTML viewer.
Warning
You are highly discouraged from using the internal HTML viewer for large reports.
