To enter the Design Space panel, click on the Design Space tab identified by the icon
or select from the main menu.
The Design space window contains Design Table with all the generated design quantities. You can monitor the optimisation process while it is running or after it is finished.
The columns of the table are displayed in the following order:
ID an integer number that univocally identifies the design.
Marked a check box to select or deselect a design.
Input variables values.
Output variables values.
Transfer variables values.
Objective values.
Constraints values.
The order of the columns respects the order chosen in the Summary Panel, for input, output and transfer variables, objective and constraints.
The table cells have different colours, according to the type of design:
Black ID number for real designs.
Blue ID number for virtual designs (i.e. designs that have been calculated using response surfaces).
Black rows for correct and real designs.
Red rows for error designs.
Light red cells for broken constraints.
Yellow rows for unfeasible designs.
In the Figure 9.6, "Design Space Panel" are shown some particular designs:
ID number 0 is a real correct design.
ID number 1 is a virtual design with an error.
ID number 2 is a virtual design.
ID number 3 is a real design with an error.
ID number 4 is a real design with a broken constraint.
ID number 5 is a virtual design with a broken constraint.
ID number 6 is a marked design.
ID number 7 is a selected design.
Summary values for the current design database can be found at the bottom of the window, displaying:
number of designs.
number of errors.
number of unfeasible designs (i.e. designs that are breaking at least one constraint).
number of marked designs.
number of virtual designs.
The following actions are permitted on this panel:
Import and export a table of designs as an ASCII file.
Hide/show certain or all table columns.
Find a particular design in the design database
Find minimum and maximum values in the design database for a particular column.
Edit or add a design.
Copy designs into the clipboard (to later paste them in the DOE).
Remove designs.
Reset Ids after having deleted designs.
