Most internal frames have properties that can be viewed in a property sheet. The Designs Space Properties Panel displays the property sheet for the currently selected frame in the Designs Space and through it the user can change the properties' values. When the Properties Panel is open, it displays the names and values of the properties of the currently selected frame: depending on the type of frame selected, it is possible to see additional different properties and/or distinct categories of properties.
You can edit the values of most properties in the Properties Panel. To change a property value, click the property's value field. The appearance of the field changes depending on the type of value required:
If a string value is required, the field becomes a text field. It is possible to type the new value directly in this field and press Enter or move to another field.
If a specific list of values is allowed, a drop-down arrow appears. It is possible to click this arrow and select the value from the combo box that appears.
If a property editor is available for that property, an ellipsis [...] button appears. You can click the ellipsis button to open the property editor.
Depending on which type of internal frame is selected it is possible to affect different properties.
The Properties Panel comes out from the right side of the Designs Space Explorer. To invoke the Properties Panel
the user has to select the internal frame to modify and then (if it has not done yet) click on the show
Properties Panel icon
in the ToolBar.
The first time the Properties Panel is open all the category are collapsed. To expand a category just click on the arrow icon on the left of its title.
