To install modeFRONTIERTM under WINDOWS NT/2000/XPTM you should follow the next steps:
Insert the modeFRONTIERTM's installation CD in the CD drive.
Run the
install.exe executable file and
click the button in the Welcome window.
Note:
If in the system is present another modeFRONTIER 3xxTM product then the wizard will
inform you. You can have only one modeFRONTIER 3xxTM installation in your system so
you have to uninstall the version in your system before installing a new one. Once uninstalled it you have to
run again the
install.exe executable file.
Read carefully the License Agreement and click the button to accept the terms.
Check the components of the modeFRONTIERTM system you want to install and click the button in the Choose Components Window.
Select the base directory (Destination Directory) under which the modeFRONTIERTM system will be installed. Click the button to select a different folder. When the Destination Directory has been defined click the button.
Note:
The modeFRONTIERTM product will be installed in a directory named ESTECO/modeFRONTIER3xx under the base directory you selected.
Enter the Start Menu folder name in which you would like to create the programs's shortcuts. Then click the button.
Select the Additional Tasks you would like to perform in the Select Additional Tasks Window It is possible to create additional shortcut icons in the desktop and in the quick launch panel. Then click the button.
Locate the modeFRONTIERTM license file or license server using the License Type Window. Two different methods to locate the license can be defined:
Locate License File - the license file can be directly located browsing the file sytem. E.g.: In the Figure 1.8, "modeFRONTIERTM Setup - Choose Licenses Window" the license is c:\temp\license.esteco.
Note:
If the Import Locally box is checked the license file will be copied in the modeFRONTIER3xx/lic folder and will be renamed in license.dat. Otherwise, if the Add to Environment Variable box is checked the ESTECO_LICENSE_FILE variable will be added to the system's environment with the value of the license path.
Locate License Servers - the license server/s can be directly located, also on a remote system. E.g.: In the Figure 1.8, "modeFRONTIERTM Setup - Choose Licenses Window" one redundant license server has been defined. It is possible to define not more than three redundant license servers (click on the checkbox on the left to enable a license server). Each server has to be declared indicating the port and its hostname.
Note:
The environment variable ESTECO_LICENSE_FILE=27000@jungle.esteco.it will be added to the system. If ESTECO_LICENSE_FILE has also the license path value, then the value 27000@jungle.esteco.it will be appended to it.
After the license has been correctly configured click the button.
Define the user type for the installation. The Administrator account can install the product for all the users, the software can also be installed only for the current user selecting the check box. When done click the button.
Click the button to continue with the installation.
View the summary of the components that will be installed. If you want to change some settings click the button until you reach the appropriate Window.
Click the Install button to start the installation process.
Wait for the install process to complete (the progressbar reaches 100% and the button is enabled) then click the button.
Configure the license manager (Flex LMTOOLS). It is possible to install and configure FlexLM License Services (to allow FlexLM Servers to run in the background).
Click the button and if the Launch FlexLM TOOLS box is selected then the FlexLM TOOLS will be launched and automatically will be added a new service named FlexLM Service modeFRONTIER3xx (see Figure 1.13, "modeFRONTIERTM LMTOOLS - Service/License File") and will be inserted the correct paths to lmgrd.exe, license and log files (see Figure 1.14, "modeFRONTIERTM LMTOOLS - Config Services").
Click the Finish button to exit from the installation.
If the Run modeFRONTIER 3xx box is selected then modeFRONTIERTM will be launched.
