Turn Operation dialog - Finishing tab

Strategy - Selects a finishing cycle for the operation.

Compensation - Specifies the type of compensation. Choose between:

None - Cancels controller compensation. This is the default setting.

Left & Right - Applies controller compensation. When controller compensation is applied, the programmed toolpath is output with respect to the tool set point, and it is assumed that the CNC controller is compensating for the Tool Nose Radius. This mode requires that the controller offset registers and tool types are defined correctly.

Pathtrace - Selecting Pathtrace Compensation causes the output tool path to be readjusted to cater for tool geometry. This is in effect until cancelled.

Z/X Offset - Specifies an offset in Z/X to apply to the profile boundary.

Back Off - Specifies the distance in X that the tool moves away from the profile after the finishing pass. The move is made at 45 degrees, with the Z component of the move towards the toolchange position.

ToolStore - Press the Find button to open the ToolStore. Pick the appropriate tool and click Select.

Feedrate - Specifies the feed movement speed of the tool. This is feed per minute, or feed per revolution (default), as selected using the Feed Type (M-Functions menu) command.

Speed - Specifies the spindle speed of the turning centre. If you have previously selected Constant Surface Speed using the CSS (M-Functions menu) command, this spindle speed is measured in surface speed (mm/inches) per minute.

Position - Specifies the position that the tool occupies on the turret (this defaults to the last-used turret position).

Nose Radius - Defines the radius of the corner at the cutting end of the insert.

Symbol - Select from a list of ISO insert symbol types.

Edge Length - Defines the length of the cutting edge of the insert.

Side Angle - Defines the angle between the tool axis normal and the side of the insert.

Use Roughing Tool - Check to avoid a toolchange between the roughing and finishing cycles, using the same roughing tool with the finishing cycle.
