Taper Endmill dialog - General tab

ToolStore - Press the Find button to open the ToolStore. Pick the appropriate tool and click Select. Please note that it is not possible to enter '*' as a wildcard in the find string.

Diameter - Specifies the diameter of the tool.

Corner Radius - Defines the radius of the corner at the cutting edge of the insert.

Angle - Specifies the taper angle of the tool.

Flute Length - Specifies the flute length of the tool.

Small Diameter - Specifies the smaller diameter of the taper tool.

Number of Teeth - Specifies the number of cutting teeth on the tool.

Comment - Enter any short notes here regarding the tool - these appear in the instruction list and in the NC output for the machining sequence.

Please note that when adding a tool that does not have a ToolStore name the name used in the EdgeCAM sequence will be used for the tool description. If this exceeds 38 characters it will be truncated.

Tool Graphic - The name of the .csv file to be used to represent the tool and shank geometry. Press the Browse button to search for existing user defined graphics files.

Holder Graphic - The name of the .csv file to be used to represent the holder for this tool. Press the Browse button to search for existing user defined graphics files.

Holder Z Offset - Specifies the offset distance from Shank CPL to Holder CPL.

Note: It is possible to load a .csv file with cutter/shank data as a holder and/or holder data as cutter graphics which will produce unwanted results in EdgeCAM. Please ensure that you always load an appropriate .csv file.

Shank Height - Specifies the height of the shank.

Shank Width - Specifies the width of the shank.

Units - Specifies the units in which the tool is defined.

Colour - Selects the colour of the tool and its associated toolpaths.

Layer - Specifies the layer on which the associated toolpath will be drawn.
