Dynamic Billet - Click box to create a continuous entity (the 'dynamic billet') which defines the remaining material on a 2.5D profile. This entity can be selected for a subsequent pass by a smaller tool. If checked the Contouring tab cannot be used.

The advantages of using this parameter are:

Engrave - Check to use EdgeCAM's engraving features. If checked the Contouring tab cannot be used.

Tolerance - Controls the machining accuracy. Specify the distance band across the width of the mathematically correct toolpath within which the actual toolpath entities can be generated. Small values result in a more accurate finish, but the system takes longer to generate the toolpath. When slotting, if a Continuous entity contains an arc that does not lie in either the XY, XZ or YZ planes, the resultant toolpath breaks the arc into a series of small linear moves which lie within this tolerance.

Corner Type Strategy - Select different cornering methods for the profiling cycles:

Sharp - Cutter can move past the profile (by radius of the cutter) to maintain a sharp corner.

Round - Cutter is kept in contact with the profile. This may result in an arc move in the toolpath.

Twizzle - A twizzle move is inserted to maintain a sharp corner.

Twizzle Radius - Specifies the radius of the twizzle.

Default Profile Side - Specifies the side of each selected closed profile to be machined. This can be set to <None>, Inside or Outside. This is a useful feature to use if creating toolpaths for many profiles at the same time. Use the Window button from the submodifier bar to select all the required profiles.

Pockets - Check to only select closed profiles for the cycle.

Mid Point Snapping - Check to allow mid-points of entities to be acceptable as start/end positions, as well as the end points.

Select by Region - Check to apply the cycle to a region of a profile. Use the right-hand mouse button to cycle through the various methods:

Combined start/end point (only available for closed profiles)

Start point position

End Point position

Suppress Profile (only available when multiple closed profiles have been selected)

Once the region to machine has been selected, EdgeCAM uses the climb/conventional setting to determine the direction of machining.

Material on Left - Check to specify that the material lies to the left of the profile in the direction that the profile was selected. If a profile is selected using the Material on the Left modifier, then at the start/end points prompt it will only be possible to place these positions on the opposite side to the material.

Islands Only - Check to ignore the outermost boundary of the selected geometry, so the cycle acts only on the selected islands rather than all selected geometry, for example, when finish machining a boss.
