Auto Side Select - When checked vertical surfaces are automatically offset both sides to ensure that wrong direction are not inadvertently selected. The main advantage is that you are not prompted to select the offset direction on all vertical surfaces, but this does mean more surfaces can be processed during the cycle.

Ignore Vertical Surfaces - Check to ignore any surface that is completely vertical. This saves time in processing large models that could contain hundreds of small vertical surfaces. You should only use this advanced option on a well-constructed 3D model.

Ignore External Edges - Check to ignore any external edges. This is used to stop the toolpath rolling over the surface edge when machining external edges (and mimics the behaviour of the EdgeCAM version 3.x cycle when machining external edges with no containment boundary). The default behaviour is to rollover the external edge.

When the option is selected the cycle will not generate toolpath stripes where the entire stripe only cuts on the external surface edges where gouge protection rollovers join them together.

When roughing it is advisable that this option is turned off because you will not want to miss out on any stripes as the cycle passes down each cut increment.

The advantage is that when used as a finishing cycle the toolpaths are generated up to the tangency point.
