To mill a walled pocket

1. Choose which type of pocketing cycle you want to use (use Areaclear or Lace from the Cycles menu).

2. Specify the parameters for the cycle, leaving the Depth parameter blank.

3. Click OK when you have finished.

4. Entity digitise the lower end of the wall profile to specify the Depth for the cycle.

5. Select the Line/Arc/Continuous/Group as the boundary profile.

6. Perform a Finish when you have selected the profile.

7. Digitise a new start point for the cycle and then perform a Finish.

8. Entity digitise the wall profile to define the outer wall profile. If you don’t select a pocket wall profile (by performing a Finish), EdgeCAM generates a planar pocketing cycle with vertical walls.

EdgeCAM now generates the pocketing cycle toolpath.
