Where boundaries have been used and the surfaces are completely inside, the boundary defines the outer limits of the machined area (that is, the stock), and the cycle considers the selected surfaces to be islands. This is shown in this example part:
Note that the boundary cannot cross over the selected surfaces, as this may cause unpredictable results.
