CSS - As a fixed tool cuts down towards the spindle of a turning centre, the cutting speed decreases as the circumference of the turned part decreases. To ensure that the speed of the tool over the surface of the material stays constant (a condition known as Constant Surface Speed, or CSS), use this command.
Check the CSS box to keep the speed of the tool constant over the surface of the material, by increasing the spindle speed as the tool approaches the centreline.
If you want to return to using the default condition of fixed spindle speed, use this command again but make sure that the CSS box is blank.
