Tapped - When importing thread data from a CAD system this box will be checked automatically. For all other systems, you will need to check this box if tapping is required.
Standard - Specifies the thread standard used.
Nominal Size - The nominal size as specified in the thread standard. In some cases this is a true size dimension, usually a diameter, in others it may be a gauge or reference number.
When importing thread data from the CAD system the Standard
and Nominal Size parameters will be set to None. The relevant information
will be taken through from the CAD system.
Thread Units - Specifies the units of the thread, in either mm or inches.
Tap Diameter - Specifies the tap diameter in thread (not part) units.
Drill Size - Specifies the tapped drill size in thread (not part) units.
Clearance Drill Size - If required, the clearance drill size can be entered into this field. This value is currently not imported and has to be added manually.
Pitch/TPI - Specifies the pitch of the thread or the number of threads per inch depending on the thread specification. Note that when machining in EdgeCAM, selection of a suitable tool from the ToolStore will load the correct pitch value for use as feed per revolution in tapping.
Hand - Selects a right or left-handed thread.
Full Depth - Check this box to increase the depth for through holes.
Depth (in Part Units) - Specifies the depth of the hole.
A threaded hole feature needs to have the following parameters
set to be considered fully defined: Thread Units, Tap Diameter, Drill
Size, Pitch/TPI, and Depth. If the hole is threaded and any of these parameter
fields are blank a question mark "? " is displayed after the
feature name in the Feature Browser.
