You use this dialog to change the sub-spindle machining setup, originally created when the machining sequence was started and parameters were entered in the Lathe Setup Tab.
Edit Lathe Setup allows you to re specify critical dimensions, for example the main to sub spindle separation & the docking grip position. Upon accepting these values the sub spindle fixtures, stock, component geometry, boundaries and CPLs used in maching will be transformed to the new position. Following this the user is expected to regenerate the machining sequence in order for the machining to move to the new position.
Machine Tool - Select the appropriate Code Generator file. Use this to change to a different machine tool. In order to do this the Machine Datum on the new machine needs to be in the same position as the original machine as this position currently cannot be edited.
Selecting a new machine tool will reset parameters such as Machine To Sub Spindle Datum (Z) to the default values defined in the code generator.
(Main/Sub Spindle) Datum to Chuckface – Distance from machine datum to chuck face (see an illustration). The default value is set in the code generator. If you choose digitise method you will be prompted to select the spindle geometry, you can use this method to select different spindle geometry, for instance when changing to machine with different spindle devices.
Grip Position - Check this if you want to change the docking grip position (see an illustration). On closing the dialog you will be prompted to digitise a point to define the Grip point. You can free digitise or digitise in the main spindle geometry (on a vertex for example).
(Machine to Sub Spindle Datum) Z - This is the separation distance between the two spindles in Z (see an illustration).
The default value is set in the code generator.
