Enhancements to Part Filename display
The filename of the open part moved to the left hand end of the EdgeCAM Window title bar. (So part name also visible in the Windows Taskbar.)
Part path and filename also optionally shown at the right-hand end of the title bar.
Output Tolerance Setting Enhancements
The Output Tolerance sequence parameter made available when first creating the sequence, and 'modal'.
Custom Commands more Portable
Path variables introduced, such as '<master directory>', for use in (for example) PDI paths. Allows '.config' files to be transferred between machines more easily.
Auto-Regenerate Disabling
Option to disable Auto-Regenerate introduced, to avoid the regeneration delay.
Arc Entities for Cylindrical Stock
Introduction of Arc entity production on generating cylindrical stock. Available for use as boundary entities in machining, for example.
Automatic Move to Toolchange and Z Home Options
Into Preferences dialog, new options introduced:- Force Rapid to Home and Force Rapid to Toolchange. Instructions to be automatically inserted before any Toolchange instruction created (provided the tool is not already at the toolchange Z coordinate).
IGES Files Open in default Part Units
IGES files made to always open in the units set in EdgeCAM's defaults file (when using the New IGES Importer).
Toolpath Rendering Speed Increased
Delays in rendering (processing for screen display) with large and complex toolpaths reduced. Rendering up to 100x faster.
Cylinder Autostock Generation Improved
Improvement to the consistency of fit for cylindrical auto-stock, around part geometry.
Operations
Face Mill Operation - Default Lead Length
Blank Lead Length parameter effectively replaced by tool radius plus 5 mm or tool radius plus 0.2 inch.
Z Offset Available in Roughing and Profiling Operations
New Z Offset parameter available in the General tabs.
Code Generator and Code Wizard Enhancements
Tokens for all Numeric User Variables
Tokens for all Numeric User Variables made available in adaptive templates.
Radius Rounding Errors Corrected on almost Complete Arcs
Introduction of protection against errors caused by arc moves that form almost a complete circle, and use 'R', using an enforced switch to IJK output, when appropriate.
Improved Moves To and Between Subroutines
The move before a subroutine call made conditional - only added if incremental subroutines are in use.
Support for Heidenhain 200 Series Canned Hole Cycles
Introduced into the templates for Heidenhain machines.
Adaptive Template introduced for Index G200 machines
Wrapping Output Options fixed in Code Wizard
Fix to Code Wizard so that the wrapping Co-ordinate Output options are no longer ignored and have an affect with Radial Arcs checked.
New Code Constructor in Okuma Adaptive Templates
The Start Cycle code constructor added for turning cycles in the Okuma adaptive templates.
Thread Milling Canned Cycles fully Implemented for TNC 426 Templates
Improved Rapids after Toolchange in Adaptive Templates
Solid Machinist
Thread data imported from Autodesk Inventor R9 Hole Methods
The three hole construction methods introduced into Autodesk Inventor at R9 fully supported; thread data imported into EdgeCAM from holes of any method.
Enhanced Autodesk Inventor Assembly Support over CAD Link
Thread data and coordinate systems are transferred from the Autodesk Assembly, when you launch the assembly into EdgeCAM (using the 'Launch EdgeCAM' option within Autodesk Inventor).
Tolerance Warning - Tighter in Cycle than Granite Model
Introduction of a warning that is displayed on creating a cycle based on solid geometry, if the cycle tolerance is tighter (smaller) than the internal tolerance of the model.
Multiple-Solid-Body Parts
Multiple-solid-body CATIA V5 parts always open in EdgeCAM as multiple bodies.
Processing 'Possibly Corrupt' Solids Completes
Solids files that produce the message "Possibly corrupt solid - not all faces could be facetted" carry on to load into EdgeCAM (as oppose to aborting, as in previous releases).
Profiling
Containment Boundaries Available when 3D Curve Profiling
When using 3D Profiling (Profiling cycle), the 'Digitise containment boundary entities..' prompt made available:
Multiple Passes available when 3D Curve Profiling
Undercut Machining Option
The option 'Undercut' introduced to the Profiling cycle General tab. This allows an opt out of undercut machining when an undercutting tool (T-Slot or Lollipop) is specified (saving processing time). Previously undercutting was always enabled for undercutting tool types.
