Profiling cycle
Undercut Profiling
Undercut profiling introduced, using one of the new undercutting tool types of 'T-Slot' or 'Lollipop'. (Profiling being the only cycle which can use tools' undercutting capability.)
3D Curves
New '3D Profiling' option introduced in the Depth tab. This allows machining of wireframe profiles that curve in three dimensions, or that lie in plane non-parallel to the CPL.
Start/End Point picking available with Features
Ability to digitise Start and End Points introduced, when using the Profiling cycle with features (previously this could only be done when profiling wireframe geometry).
New Face Mill operation
New operation introduced with the usual speed and ease of use advantages of operations.
Roughing High Speed Cornering Made Optional
High Speed Cornering option introduced. Can be disabled to opt out of corner radiuses being introduced into sharp corners (previously High Speed Cornering was always effectively enabled).
Face Milling Associative Options
Associative versions of Clearance and Depth parameters introduced.
Turning
Sub-Spindle Turning Setup made Editable
New Lathe Setup dialog introduced for changing the sub-spindle part transfer setup.
Sandvik Coromant Wiper Inserts Support
Parameters supporting Sandvik Coromant Wiper inserts for Turning and Boring tools introduced into the Toolchange dialog.
Solid Machinist
Threads per Inch Attribute Introduced for Hole Features
New attribute ensures correct tool selection for holes within strategies (as created with Strategy Manager).
Autodesk Assembly Support
Ability to load Autodesk assemblies introduced.
Enhanced SolidWorks Assembly Support
Part and assembly level threads now passed into EdgeCAM from SolidWorks assemblies, on import. Also planes and coordinate systems.
Machining Below the Depth of Features
Ability to machine below the depth of features introduced. Also more reliable Termination property assignment for automatically-found features.
Preview Show/Hide Option
In the File Open dialog, the 'Show Preview' option introduced, that can be disabled if the preview causes delays.
Instruction Properties shown in Properties Window
Introduction of instruction properties (Tool Diameter for example) display in the Properties Window. For information only.
Quick Naming of CNC Code File after Part File
In the Generate CNC Code dialog, a new option 'Use Part Name' introduced. For the CNC code file name, uses the open part's file name.
Generating Code for Single Tools
In the Generate CNC Code dialog, a new option 'Tool Name' introduced. Generates code for the sequence between the toolchange selected and the next toolchange.
Job Manager - CAD File Automatic Entry
CAD File entry in Job Manager dialog automatically set to reference the solid file embedded in the EdgeCAM part file (if applicable).
Window Docking Handles
Temporary markers introduced to help position windows, when moving/docking them.
Simulator
Information Messages
Information messages introduced at the bottom of the Simulator window. Examples: 'Stopped at Specified Cut', 'Holder collision detection off'.
New Options Dialog
Options dialog introduced containing some new options, and some from the old Advanced Options dialog.
Comparison Offset Option
Option introduced when using the Compare facility to allow for deliberate machining offsets.
Collision Indication Options
Options introduced for the indication of collisions, such as 'Flash Solids Red'.
Tool Faceting Options
Options introduced for the relating to how the tool is approximated ('faceted'), which is used to speed up simulation. The Tolerance option for example allows the setting of how accurately the tool is approximated.
IGES Handling
Loading IGES defaults to New Loader
IGES loading changed to using the 'New Loader' by default.
Import Healing and Conversion Options
Options introduced for loading embedded BREP solids (as surfaces), and fixing poor trim data (for example).
Loading as Parasolid body
Option introduced for loading IGES files as Parasolid type.
